AutoProPAD Core key programmer
The AutoProPAD Core is a wired OBD-II key programmer built for automotive locksmiths who want speed over features. It is the successor to the AutoProPAD Basic, and it does one job properly: programming keys and key fobs through a direct link to the vehicle immobiliser via the OBD-II port.
What can it actually do?
It programs keys and fobs on most domestic and Asian vehicles through the OBD-II port, with step-by-step on-screen guidance so you are not relying on dealer assistance. It is a wired tool only – there is no bench or EEPROM work here, which is exactly why it is quicker to use for everyday jobs.
If your work regularly needs bench programming, EEPROM reading or wider European coverage, the Core is the wrong model and we will tell you so before you buy.

Will it work outside North America?
This is the question to settle before you order. XTOOL designates the AutoProPAD range for North America and the Caribbean, some functions carry region locks, and XTOOL may refuse warranty claims or software support if the tool is used outside those regions.
We ship worldwide, so tell us where you are and what you work on and we will be straight with you about what you will and will not get. We would rather lose the sale than have you find out afterwards.
What should I know about the PIN and registration?
The Core requires a PIN of your choosing every time it powers up or wakes from sleep, and it performs a daily internet verification. These are anti-theft measures, added because key programmers have become targets for theft against working locksmiths.
One consequence worth knowing: once a programmer is registered and used, it is generally non-returnable and non-exchangeable. Ask us anything you are unsure about first.

Is this the same as the AutoProPAD Basic?
No. The Core is the successor to the Basic. The interface has been rebuilt and the workflow streamlined, with fewer button presses to reach the same result.
Does it do bench or EEPROM programming?
No. The Core is wired OBD-II only. That is a deliberate design choice to keep it fast and simple for everyday key work.
Does it cover European vehicles?
Its focus is domestic and Asian vehicles. Send us the makes and model years you work on most and we will confirm coverage before you commit.
Is technical support included?
XTOOL provides tech support to users with an active subscription, and that subscription is registered in your own name rather than shared or held by us. You deal with XTOOL directly for support, and the account is yours.
What warranty applies if I am outside North America?
We provide a 6 month warranty on this tool, covering faults with the device itself. That applies wherever you are, including outside the regions XTOOL supports.
If it arrives faulty or does not work, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it within 10 days.
What our warranty cannot do is restore manufacturer software support or unlock region-locked functions. XTOOL designates the AutoProPAD for North America and the Caribbean and may refuse support elsewhere, and no warranty from us changes what their software will do.
