Ford IDS Software
Ford IDS Software is a factory-issued diagnostic tool from Ford Motor Company, available through a 12-month subscription. It offers comprehensive diagnostic coverage for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles manufactured from 1996 to the present. The software is designed to work seamlessly with Ford’s VCM, VCM II, VCM III, VCMM, and VMM devices.

Ford IDS diagnostic software
Ford IDS (Integrated Diagnostic System) is the dealer-level application for Ford and Lincoln vehicles, covering module programming, configuration, guided diagnostics and service routines. It is the tool a franchised Ford technician uses, rather than a generic scanner that reads codes and stops there.
We supply it licensed in your own name, so the software belongs to you rather than sitting on a shared account.
What can you do with it that a generic scanner cannot?
The difference is module work. IDS handles programmable module installation, configuration after a module swap, and the guided pinpoint tests that Ford writes for its own vehicles.
A generic tool will read and clear codes across many makes. IDS goes deeper on one make, which is what matters when the job is a module replacement rather than a fault readout.

You also need an interface to reach the vehicle. The software alone will not communicate with a car. Tell us what you already own and we will confirm whether it will work before you buy anything else.
Which vehicles does it cover?
Ford and Lincoln, with coverage depending on model and year. Send us the vehicles you work on most and we will confirm the version that covers them, rather than you finding out afterwards.
How is it supplied?
The licence is registered in your own name. It is your licence and your login, not a shared account and not one held by us, so the software stays yours and you deal with the manufacturer directly.
We install and activate it for you remotely over TeamViewer and check it works before we leave you with it.
This carries a 12 month warranty on hardware and 6 months on software. If it arrives faulty or does not work, tell us within 14 days and we will replace it within 10 days.
